You are a parent of a child with special needs, mental health challenges or both. You are trying to navigate the social service systems and you are not getting anywhere fast. You are encountering roadblocks and when you finally seem to be getting somewhere, you find yourself on a never ending waitlist.
As a parent, you are frustrated and overwhelmed. The pressure of trying to get help for your child is affecting the other kids in your house, your relationship with your partner and your position at work.
When you are blessed with access to services, they are often time-limited and it is difficult for your child to adapt between program expectations and your rules at home. Perhaps most discouraging, at the age of 18, your child has to leave the programs you have been able to find and you have to start the process of looking for services all over again with another system.
It doesn’t have to be that way. There are multiple layers in every service system. Why wait for a service if you can purchase services directly? If your child requires multiple services, we can discuss bringing in a private agency to cover programming while you wait for a funded opportunity to arise.
Mission Statement - Families who are trying to access services will always receive an honest assessment of the journey ahead. If you wish, I will support you throughout the process of securing services from the school board, the hospital or community partners. I will work diligently on your behalf to seek out and access services that are appropriate to meet the defined level of need.
Company policy - All of our interactions are private and confidential. The only exception is where child abuse or severe risk of injury has been reported. In these circumstances I am bound morally and by law to report these instances to the appropriate authorities.
Executive profile – I am a proud community health professional with decades of experience dedicated to working with children, youth and their families in various social service sectors; complex special needs, autism, mental health and dual diagnoses. I have participated in all levels of the system from front line to management to program development.
I have demonstrated my commitment throughout my career to clients who are at critically high risk. I have highly developed skills in interpreting the multiple and various legislations that govern our systems and have years of training in understanding and managing crisis and trauma, using superior assessment skills, negotiation and open communication with all participants.
I have established long-standing relationships and partnerships with multiple stakeholders in various service sectors across southern Ontario. This has enabled me to connect clients to agencies who were willing to develop programs to suit their individual needs.
Your needs are as individual as you are. Each package of services is developed with that in mind.
